Bio: I am Francesco Maiorana and I have more than twenty years of teaching experience, including tutoring and teaching high school, undergraduate and post-graduate courses, teacher preparation courses as well as volunteer mentorship in informal education (www.coderdojo.com). I an active researcher in computer science education, medical informatics, and data mining, with more than ten years of experience and more than 60 articles published in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences. I was an active researcher in European projects, as well as national projects. I was the principal investigator on the project related to the Google grant CS4HS. I was one of the leaders of the 5th working group at ITiCSE 2015 and the moderator of a panel about teacher professional development at ITiCSE 2017, a supporter, as acknowledged in the final report, of WG9: Searching for early developmental activities leading to computational thinking skills at ITiCSE 2017, a member of WG 9: Promoting the adoption of educational innovations at ITiCSE 2018. I will participate in WG 6: An International Benchmark Study of K-12 Computer Science Education in Schools at ITiCSE where I will be a panel moderator about Interdisciplinary Computer Science Pre-service Teacher Preparation
