Student Learning

Thus far we have some indirect measures of student learning. For example:

We are currently working on obtaining direct measures of learning. Broadly, these measures target:

a) learning of factual content including

• Programming
• Software development tools and processes
• Professional behavior
• Team skills

b) development of higher order thinking skills

Student Motivation

a) Student self-report measures of attitude and motivation related to

• Studying computing
• Majoring or minoring in computing
• Computing careers
• Use and importance of computing in other careers

b) Student retention in computing studies
