Schedule Overview

  • Thursday:
    • AM - Travel
    • PM - Meetings
    • Target start time of 12pm at NCC - Lunch will be provided
    • Casual / Working dinner
      • Pick your dinner selection from the take out menu and by noon Wed. 1/6 and note below.
      • We will order a large salad
      • Greg: Eggplant Rollatine
      • Heidi: Chicken Parmesan (dinner, not hero)
      • Stoney: Rigatoni Theresa

    • Work until 8 or 9 Thursday evening

    • Goal of working until 3pm at least depending on when people need to travel to get home.

  • Assess status of the project relative to the proposal
  • Plan actions needed to stay on track with the proposal
  • Plan upcoming events for SIGCSE, CCSCNE, POSSE, NSF/AAAS
  • Identify / summarize what has been accomplished (in part for the annual report)

Direct measurement of learning

  • What instruments do we need?
    • GH pilot of general FOSS intro questions
  • Are there existing instruments that we might use, especially for professional skills?

How to measure instructor stage 3 activity

  • Need to capture stories including the ones presented at Hopper (Patti, Becka, ...)

Tracking faculty activity

  • One year post survey for POSSE alum
    • Poor response to last round - should we switch to interviews?
  • Multiple good stories told at Hopper
  • Mentions of efforts in POSSE roundup applications
