Name: Andrew Roosen
Position: Assistant Professor, Computer and Information Sciences, University of Delaware
Bio: I call myself a "lapsed mathematician", since my Ph.D. is in Applied Mathematics. I did a postdoc at NIST, and was "the computer jack of all trades" in the Materials Science and Engineering Laboratory there. I've been at Delaware for 12 years, as an assistant professor for the last year. Before that, I managed the research computer systems for the Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Departments. Started adjuncting about eight years ago, and last year decided that teaching is "my thing".
Been managing and programming Linux systems since the '90s. Big FOSS booster philosophically: keen to learn how to promulgate that philosophy.
