- How do people interact?
- Parallel typing with race conditions (e.g. "jinx" comment). Hashes indicate commands that tell the meetbot to tag a significant note. Chair appears to make most of the commands.
- What is the pattern of communication? Is it linear or branched? Formal or informal? One-to-many, one-to-one or a mix?
- Fairly informal discussion, with some typing collisions (expected). Very on-topic. Mostly linear, with short branches that end. Some one-to-one, but lots of one-to-many (the trunk) followed by the short branching conversations.
- Are there any terms that seem to have special meaning?
- All of the commands (info, action, etc with hashes), also john wrote a non-verbal
- Can you make any other observations?
- Disadvantage of this system: it requires people to type quickly to participate. They could do some typing ahead, but not the responses.
- Advantage: I cannot tell gender, age, race in this environment. Anyone could join a software project and participate without suffering bias, as long as they were careful about what/how they share.
- Bonus question: Why did Amber's action get detected by the meetbot, but not the others?
- Case sensitive names :(
