      It shows 16,081 repository results.
    2. Click on the first project. Click on Graphs, then Commits. What information does this page provide?
I didn't find out "Graphs", but find "Commits" directly. The latest commit is on Oct 30, 2017, which lists the changes along the time.

OpenHub

  • Search for "Education" related applications.
    1. How many projects were returned?
There are 225 pages, each page includes 10 projects, and 8 on page 225. So it's 224*10+8=2248 projects.
    2. Click on "KDE Education". Look on the right hand side of the page and click on Code Locations. There are a number of projects listed here. Is any of the code located on GitHub?
There are 23 projects, and none is on GitHub. It looks like everything is on anongit.kde.org.
    3. Go back one page. Under the Code Locations, it provides several projects that are Similar. Click on Similar Projects. How many similar projects are listed?
      There are 10 similar projects.
    4. Scroll down. What information does OpenHub provide about the project?
It lists the link, programming language and the license used for the projects Similar to KDE Education.
  • Perform searches for both humanitarian and disaster management.
    1. How many projects were returned for each search?
For "humanitarian", there is 3 pages, and 1 on page 3, so it returns 21 projects.
For "disaster management", there is 3 pages, and 9 on page 3, so it returns 29 projects.
    2. Click on the Activity icon. Why do so many projects do not have activity information available?
I guess there are one or two projects become the top, and most interests will focus on the top projects, and the other projects are just ignored, so no people work on them anymore.
  • Click on Organizations.
    1. What information is provided on this page?
It shows Most Active Organizations, Newest Organizations, Organizations by 30 Day Commit Volume, and Stats by Sector. The sectors include Commercial, Non-Profit, Education, Government.
  • Search for OpenMRS.
    1. When was the last commit for OpenMRS Core?
The most recent commit is 23 days ago, 10/10/2017.
  • Go back to GitHub and search for OpenMRS Core.
    1. When was the last commit?
The most recent commit is Nov 1, 2017.
    2. Why do you think these sites have different information?
Github has the changes more frequently. OpenHub documents the major changes (Github shows on Oct 10, 2017 that the license-maven-plugin version is changed to 3.0.).
  • What would be the benefits/drawbacks of using both GitHub and OpenHub to search for a project?
If we want to find our most updated information about a project, we can use GitHub; if we want to find the major changes of a project, we can use OpenHub
